In this paper, patients suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee were treated with adipose stem cells, which proved to maintain improvement in pain over a 5-year period.
Although the study in this paper was conducted for up to 5 years, there is a possibility that patients may experience improvement over a longer period of time.
In this paper, MRI showed that the femur cartilage regenerated over a 3-year period. It is generally believed that once cartilage is damaged, it rarely regenerates, but the fact that cartilage regeneration was demonstrated through the effects of adipose stem cells is a very important finding.
