Efficacy of adipose stem cells for osteoarthritis - 1

A paper has been published on the results of adipose stem cells administered for osteoarthritis of the knee.

The paper presented here was just published in May 2022.

「Safety and Efficacy of the Intra-articular Injection of Mesenchymal Stem Cells for the Treatment of Osteoarthritic Knee: A 5-Year Follow-up Study」

In this paper, patients suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee were treated with adipose stem cells, which proved to maintain improvement in pain over a 5-year period.
Although the study in this paper was conducted for up to 5 years, there is a possibility that patients may experience improvement over a longer period of time.
In this paper, MRI showed that the femur cartilage regenerated over a 3-year period. It is generally believed that once cartilage is damaged, it rarely regenerates, but the fact that cartilage regeneration was demonstrated through the effects of adipose stem cells is a very important finding.
Please see the photos.

In the leftmost photo, there is nothing on the surface of the femur, but over time a black line becomes visible. These black lines are cartilage.
Cartilage is one of the most difficult tissues in the human body to regenerate, but if recovery can be promoted with an injectable drug, the burden on the body is small and attractive.

Conclusion

Adipose stem cells have made possible a minimally invasive and highly effective treatment option. Osteoarthritis, which until now could only be treated with surgery, has reached a major turning point.

Let Longevity Japan take care of you!

Longevity Japan offers medical tourism specializing in medical checkups and regenerative medicine.
Adipose stem cell therapy is expensive in any country. However, because of the high cost, it is important that the treatment be performed at a reputable facility. At Longevity Japan, you can receive treatment directly from university professors who have worked at the forefront of cancer treatment and regenerative medicine.
We place more importance on trust, effectiveness, and safety.
